Went to start my 98 Punto SX this morning and it was COMPLETELY dead, battery light came on.

I've had no recent problems so it was a bit of a surprise - am I right in thinking my alternator has packed up or could there be another plausible reason?

it could just be the battery my sister punto battery worked fine one morning then when she left of work it s 100% flat and not charge up any more.

you dint leave any lighst on or anything over night did you ???

if your alternattor had gone then you shold of had the battery light on as you were driving that would of said that its not recharging.,

could be worth trying to charge battery up and see f it hols charge or get a new battery from a motor factors should be reasonably prices. no more than £30 halfods will be about £45
