Hi im considering getting one of these (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143353152811) to give the illusion that my car has an alarm (as I'm too tight to fit an alarm also given the age of my vehicle its hardly worth the cost and hassle) but I want this to only get power (ie turn on) when I lock my doors and off again when I unlock the doors (like an alarm indicator would do) my car has central locking but does not have the electric boot catch and release system and is only opened by turning the key and locks automatically when closed so I need to know how and where would I link this into the wiring harness if I was to do it myself (I may get it fitted by a auto electrician in which case I may end up with a retro fit alarm)

Thieves will always get round technology regarding any car alarms one way or another, believe it or not the best deterrent is a krook lock. Even visually this is enough to send a would be car thief on his way.

Thanks but im really considering this as a more cost effective option for me so any help with how to link it with the central locking switch system would be useful

That's why I suggested the cheapo alarm. I will have the flashing LEDs and be plug and play for under £20. Use a "breakout" fuse adapter to get power from an appropriate circuit.

For example (you would need to choose the current rating) ;)

Alternatively, just put a permanent flashing LED. The power draw is tiny.
