Afternoon all,
Over the last 2 months my 64 plate 1.2 Punto has been in and out the garage with an engine light referencing the camshaft position sensor. It's since been replaced (and then re-fitted when the garage hadn't properly connected it, causing a breakdown) and the car serviced etc.
It's driven fine for 3+ weeks however today on the motorway, the same engine light came on (flashing, usually begins static) and went straight into limp mode. I managed to pull up and re-started the car and the light was gone...the car seemed to be in normal performance for a further 12 miles however it's just too risky to hope it never comes back on. Is it worth risking the 35 mile commute home?
Could the sensor connector have been damaged? Since the garage had no idea how to fit the damn thing I'm under the assumption they may have cocked up the connecting port itself, causing an intermittence.
Any advice?
Cheers guys,
Giles
