I remapped my 100hp doblo 2001 to 140-ish hp but it is still not enough. I have unlimited access to a garage so I would like to swap it. My goal is 200hp and keepin' it cheap is important as I am still in college. Other idea's to improve the car are also very welcome

Alfa 1.9?

yeah I tought of it. Some 1.9 JTD with standard 150hp could be tuned to 200 with other exhaust and intercooler etc. but would the gearbox from the alfa fit in my car? Or would the alfa engine mount to my gearbox?

Those JTD's share the same blocks, get the 2.4 JTD fuel pump, better clutch, 2.4 JTD turbo (or a hybrid one), better intercooler, free-flowing exhaust... those are some things to get you in +200hp club safely. Also, don't forget you need to put that power down and you also need to stop
