hello I have a barchetta 95, with the free version multiecuscan I can not connect with the ecu injection and airbag of the car, I have kkl cable with 4 positions interuptor and 3 pin adapter. the operating system of my laptop is windows xp, I do not know if the drivers are suitable for the cable, the error message says there are problems with the cable. I would appreciate any help, I have looked in the forum and I can not solve the problem, thanks.

Hi there. I went through this nonsense a few years ago with my 98 barchetta. I had purchased the multieuscan program from a company in Latvia, I think but I'm not positive and used it on a windows 10 lap top. However I bought cables on ebay, made in China and they just wouldn't work no matter what I did. I ordered cables from Gendan Automotive, and had the light out in five minutes. On my 98 the three pin connector is tucked up under the dash approx. 8 inches right of the radio. Good Luck(y)

That error message also occurred to me when the 3-pin adapter is not receiving voltage. Check if voltage is coming to the KKL cable, the LED should be on.

Please verify the 3-pin connector "clicks" on the car's socket, sometimes the yellow rubber ring is very rigid and prevents the connection.

i have both a same kkl cable like that from ebay and i strugle with it for some time . i found out that the comunication port settings where not well configurated ...
go to " control panel" - "device manager" - if you spot a yelow warning sign in the "usb controllers" or in " comports" you probably do not have the software controller installed and you must install/update it ( FTDI controller ) .
next , go to "properties" in the correspondent "usb serial port" , you will find wich one is it by unpluging and plug in the kkl cable ! next , click " port settings" and it must be 4800 bits per second to work ( normaly is set to 9600) alter it !
than you click "advanced" shose " com port number " (com4) and alter the "latency timer" to 10msec (normaly is 16msec) finaly click "ok" to submit the changes , get out and try it , it should work !!

Thanks, i Will try one more time. The kkl red light os on.

Fail!!!

I also have the idiagnostic cable without 4-position selector and 3-pin adapter with a single cable, the positive, with this cable you can access the airbag ecu without making modifications to the cable? Thank you

I am working with windows 10 and it works fine ! Seeing the scren pictures it seems to be well configurated you can try to play up and down with the latency value !! With the 4 position selector cable and the 3 pin adaptor the selector position must be allways in the engine position even if you are conecting to airbag or abs ecu only wen you are conecting to a obd2 plug without the 3 pin cable you change the selector for the ecu you want to diagnose !!!

I think the kkl cable without the selector only does engine diagnose !? Besides the selectors the cables pcb is the same , one chanel comunication , the one with the selector is an upgrade from the first one to comutate the comunication pins this way in cars with the obd2 16 pins you can diagnose other ecu without using adaptation cables !! So i think it will work just the same if you are using the 3 pin adaptation cable !

I am talking by memory but , if i remember there is window in the mes aplication for comunication options check if the configuration there is set to com4 also !? And i'am runing out ideas !! Also possible you have a faulty cable !

I have used xp and windows 10, changed the latency and always the same result, error !!!. please tell me the sequence that must be followed until the connection with the control unit. thank you

Plug the 3 pin cable to the kkl cable , plug the 3 pin cable to the ecu plug you desire ,power the 3pin cable leads with 12v source , plug the usb kkl to computer , check if the selector is in the engine position , open mes aplication , turn the kee to ignition position , in mes select the manufacturer , model , airbag , click conection , comfirm the 3 pin cable is conected clicking "yes" and it shoud conect to ecu !

besides the com port control drivers have you checked if the control drivers in the usb port are ok ? check them also !
