Hi, I am a new member to your forum and I have a kinda basic question and hoped some knowledgeable fellow X1/9 owner could give me a clue on.

Just sorting out my 1985 VS and I am now struggling to remove the centre console. I obviously took it out before but that was way back in 1988 and now I just can't remember how I did it!!

I have removed all the screws, gear knob etc and the passenger seat too, so the console is now loose but the handbrake lever is getting in the way of lifting the whole thing out as is the dashboard at the other end.

Is there a trick or method anyone out there could share with me please?
