My third ("boot level") brake light has failed.
Thinking it was just the bulb that had blown, I went to replace it. When the new bulb didn't didn't work, I used the other "new bulb" in the pack that I'd purchased, just in case the first bulb was "duff" !
With no "new bulb" working, I called into the Main Dealer to see if they could offer any assistance (whilst keeping my hand firming on my purse).
He "re-fitted" said "new bulbs" and got nothing (I told him that, but I suppose they like to check these things themselves !!!!).
He checked pulled apart the "connector" (bulb to connector to wire) to check that part was okay (by looking at it and doing that "technical" blow on it thing technical people like to do). That appeared to be okay...
And then he said that probably the wire that had broken somewhere, stating that wires break (and lifting the boot lid up and down by way of a demonstration).
He said that he would book me an appointment, remove the Third Brake Light Wire ...and check it/replace it.
At which point I thanked him...and departed (He is a Main Dealer and they only "quote prices" once the offending article is in bits and they have "your full attention" so to speak).
So the question(s) is/are...
Does this sound like it is a "break in the wire" problem ?
If so, how do I check it (and locate the "break") ?
Has anyone else had this problem ?
What is the best (I mean easiest) solution ?
Could it be "another problem" ?
Thanks in advance
Kx
