I have just had two failures of replaced front hub bearings on a 2005 Ducato. Not just wear - motorway recovery type failure. The first after 90 miles and then with a new set after 50 miles. What might the cause be. The whole hub area was very hot and smoky as if all the grease had burnt up. Any ideas ?

Who replaced the bearings for you, a garage probably? Sounds as though they either used an incorrect set, or if the correct ones, they weren’t pressed in correctly and misaligned. Major fitting fault is your answer I think.
