Hi, I'm hoping someone will have a suggestion to find a solution for my 51 plate MOT fail on the front subframe for several holes in all areas. Really weird as the rest of the van looks like only a few years old (i.e. it's really been looked after since new, except the subframe obviously but that's Scottish road salt for you...)

Fiat (and Citroen + Peugeot) all say "sorry part is obsolete, not even to order". I spent all day on the phone today calling scrap dealers first in Scotland then England, but all said much the same, most vans they get like 1 in 20 have rotten subframes and nobody had anything to offer.

Has anyone else been here? Is it possible to have one fabricated by an engineering shop? Any other suggestions?

You only need to supply an e-mail address. It's a good service, and doesn't take long to find your part ("as long as", which you're aware of).

I bought mine off Ebay december last year, think I was lucky as after a clean it was in good nick then I primed painted & undersealed.

There was one at Upullit but its a nightmare to get these off as there are 4 bolts (from memory the back 2 on each side) that have captive nuts (??) and we eventually gave up.

There is a van in a scrappers near me, i can ask if they will get it shipped if you like, will be around that area in the morning. Was under the van day before yesterday and it looked good from the side

Edit: Just found a specialist on ebay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/AM-Marketing-and-Sales?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 . He has front rails on his page, maybe ask about side rails
