Hi I have a Fiat Punto 54 reg and I have been having ongoing problems with the Map sensor. The sensor was replaced a year ago by Fiat but the problems have reoccurred.

What normally happens is the engine warning light will come on and then the car will cut out when slowing down but I think it might be something else that is causing the problem that triggers the MAP sensor to go off.

I've noticed that the problem is becoming more frequent as soon as the weather gets hotter or when the engine warms up.

To get around it I put the heater on full blaster and keep topping it up with water.

Any ideas.

I suspect its not the map sensor at all....

If your loosing coolant and need to keep auxillary fan on to keep cool... youve got something going horriblt wrong...

If engine temp goes to high it trims the fuelling to try and help

A overheating engine could have killed a seal and cause a vacuum leak which the map sensor would pick up....

Thanks mate, water is not leaking but as I am using the heater more then the water goes. The dianostic test also picked up on the lambda sensor so would that have an effect too.
