Good Morning,

Two weeks ago my passenger side window just stopped working.

However, this happens shortly after myself got into the car with some snow. Maybe some snow just got on the switch as on my side at least the light on the switch isn't working and both switches (on the passenger side and driver side for my window the lights are working)

I want to go by steps and see if the fuse is busted. I hope is just that. :worship:

The problem is that I don't have an owner manual I've looked around and I found a fuse box on the glove box and someone told me I need to find fuses F47 & F48 which should have 20 A each... my problem is that there I don't see two fuses with 20 A each next to each other so I just got a bit confused... or maybe this fuse box is somewhere else. :bang:

Can anyone help me locate this?

Have a look at the engine bay fuse & relay box, fuse F85 & F86 ...

BRs, Bernie

Also highly likely to be the wiring where is passes between the body and the door - common to have problems of wires breaking there

Hello,

Thanks for that. I’ve checked the fuses and both are fine. Just wondering if could be the switch that got busted? Water dropped in there? Or it would straight away bust the window elevator?

Best Regards,
Tiago

Hello,

Basicly I've checked wires and everything looks apparently ok. I've got a new switch for the driver side however... the light on switch for the passager window is off also on the new switches...

I was wondering if that's just a sign the window motor is broken... I didn't had time to check the window and manually jump the motor.

However looks like this is the issue :(

Connect a bulb (12v 15w, 21w or so) directly to the passenger switch at ports 2 and 5, bulb should be off, but should lit when you toggle the switch to lift or lower the window, from either switch panel... That would rule out yhe motor.

Don't know if this is of any help but....My other car is an Alfa 156, and sticking
electric windows are a common issue.

Sounds basic but.... I was told by an Alfa specialist that if the windows have not been used for a while ie after winter, then sometimes the motor just needs a 'tap' with a hammer ! This was the case on both my 156's ( a 1.8 TS followed by my current 1.9JTDM ) and it was the rear windows on both cars. I had to remove the door card, then get a friend to activate the window switch so there is power to the motor, then gently tap the motor with a hammer to shock it into life. I was sceptical before doing this the first time, but it does work !

It may be different on the Punto, but if all else fails it may be worth as try. I now try to use the windows even in the middle of winter as it helps to prevent the issue..( hopefully !)

There is only one light (LED) in each switch. If your side is lit, that means power is arriving to the switch @ pin #3 that allows the driver side window operation. If the passenger side LED doesn't light, that means there is no permanent power coming to it @ pin#3 that allows the passenger window side operation AND also not coming @ pin#6 on the driver switch (for the passenger window operation).
A very simple check-lamp would tell you where's the problem, no need to spend money in parts replacement before knowing what's wrong ...

Hi everyone. I have problem with driver side el. window. I suspected that contacts on switch was problem because it was working little bit then it wasnt. Now its dead... I cleaned contacts in switch. That didnt solve problem. I checked fuses. They are good. One thing that i noticed is that when i press switch (both direction) led in switch goes off. I disconnected plug from motor and try then. Led bulb stay on. Then i connect 12v bulb on plug that goes into window motor. When i press switch 12v buld doesnt light, and led bulb in switch goes off again, same as when motor is connected. Any sugestions?
