HI MEMBERS
I have a 2017 Panda lounge and I am unable to reset the service period
I can find service service in the menu but I can not change the setting I hope some kind member can help
I am a new member of the forum and have never used this before

You need vehicle-specific hardware & software. The licenced version of multiecuscan can do this; €50 for the licence, about £20 for connecting cables, and any old computer or laptop that can run winxp or later.

We're not in Kansas anymore; the days when such things could be reset by the user pressing some combination of controls are long gone.

Obviously main dealers do this as part of the service, and an independent Fiat specialist should also be able to do so, but many independent garages don't have the required equipment. Something to check first if you're going to have it serviced outside of the main dealer network.

I will just have to see what the Fiat service dealer can do
This dealer is Fiat appointed service only but not sales except for vans so hope all goes well

If you've had it serviced by a Fiat-appointed service agent, they most definitely should have reset the service indicator as part of the service and should now do this without further charge if you take it back.

If you've serviced it yourself or used an independent garage, then it's up to the Fiat service dealer as to whether they'll reset it or not, and how much they will charge for doing so.

If it's an 2017 car it should still be under warranty so you really need to use a Fiat dealer to keep it valid. In theory you can use reputable garage and Fiat parts but it's a lot more hassle if you have to make a claim.

Mine is nearly a year out of warranty and it has never shown up anything to do with services. When you access the "service" set up it comes up "Token Expired".
I have serviced it myself twice in just over a year and added my own little mods like Platinum plugs, catch tank etc and fitted new front discs and pads.
I intend to keep the car till either the car or myself drop so to me the service indicator is meaningless.
Under warranty then it would be a different kettle of fish, dealer servicing is a must even if they don't do it properly.

Token expired means the service is overdue. As you are planning to keep the car it does not matter much.


It is more important on diesels with DPF fitted. These need two resets, the service indication (body computer) and the Oil degradation counter (Engine ECU). If the latter is not done the DPF will eventually block up after various stages of warning lights).

That's interesting Robert.
I wonder if that was the reason on the works 2012 Doblo Multijet van was nearly always regenerating, it was serviced independently and the oil light flashed for well over a year!!!

the important thing is that it does not appear anymore when I turn on the display ;)

Probably. Flashing oil light is one of the indications that the ECU thinks it needs an oil change. The DPF regeneration on multijets injects fuel on the exhaust stroke. Most goes down the exhaust and heats the DPF but some gets past the piston rings and dilutes the oil. With the early cars not even the main dealers did it properly. My Croma had 5 main dealer service stamps but only 3 oil counter resets.
