Hi Guys,

So the time has come to replace a very rusty front subframe on my 2001 Brava Formula.
I see one advertised on ebay, but I was just wondering if any of you out there also had one available.

That sounds great, but just a little bit far for me. Now if it were the summer and I could combine it with a holiday, that would be different.
Thanks anyway.

Unlikely to find one sat in someone's shed waiting to be sold, I suspect Ebay or an online specialist breakers is your best bet but unfortunately most breakers haven't had the foresight to remove and keep these items.

I think I've managed to do enough to paint and protect the front subframes on my Brava and Tipo, though I think part of the problem comes when sloppy mechanics don't refit the plastic wheelarch splashguards and water and mud get sprayed into various nooks and crannies.

If you're refutrbing the front end it's also advisable to remove the bumper and repair / replace the inevitable rusty bits behind it.

Thanks for the tips bluejohn125. Since the subframe is being replaced, I am also thinking of taking the opportunity to replace the springs and shocks, as well as all the bushes.
Anyone got suitable front springs and shocks for sale?

Long overdue update for my quest to find a replacement subframe.

Managed to get one from ebay, which I cleaned up and gave a good coating of Hammerite. Had the lower arms and bushes replaced also.

Hoping to get a little more than 2 years out of it. I have just had the underside steam cleaned and I think it might be an idea for me to do this on a yearly basis around spring time.

Ok I've posted the ad for my Brava in the Classifieds, hope it gets some interest.

£595 to FF members. Rear quarter recently resprayed due to failed lacquer from earlier repaint, not perfect match but fine.

Nearly all done but some finishing jobs left for next owner.

Great fun to drive.
