Typically, my Fiat 500 Pop is just 8 weeks out of 3 years warrantee and I notice that the upper rubber section of the “triangle” section in front of the passenger door is crazed and the rubber falling off, same thing starting to happen on the driver’s side too.

All other rubber trim is fine, not crazed at all. Car has been kept out of the sun…

Couple of questions –
  • What is this part called?
  • Has anybody else had this issue?
  • Any ideas on cost for fixing it?

I may have that part you can have, although it may be the glossy one from the Lounge. I'll check tomorrow and let you know.

They are easy to prise off, they are just held on with three push in plastic pins. Careful though as they do have a habit of breaking off in the holes. Use a plastic trim removal tool, not a screwdriver and just prise it off carefully.

I'll let you know tomorrow what I have.

I replaced these triangles on our 2008 500 Lounge - same reason. I fitted genuine parts.
I ordered them through the FIAT parts specialist (where I was working) and they arrived from Poland in a couple of weeks. Not outrageously expensive, about $30 each. There are different part numbers for Lounge and Pop (gloss black for the Lounge, matt black for the Pop). Neither comes with the rubber/chrome trim below which is a separate part as the diagram shows.

None of this is much help other than to confirm that your FIAT dealer should have been able to order them...

Well Fiat weren't much help - "Take it into a Fiat Service Center and they will submit a claim".

The first place I phoned said exterior trim wasn't usually covered under warrantee.

Rather than take time off work to get the issue assessed and then at a later date take time off again to "maybe" get fixed under a warrantee that has expired, I decided to bite the bullet and buy the parts from a dealer and fit them myself - $65 each. To fit would cost an extra $110 - bugger that.

Looks fairly straightforward -

I'll let you know how I get on.
