Every car I've had before this Doblo has required about 3 turns with the key in the ignition to turn over the engine, giving the vehicle time to prepare itself and show any warning lights etc.

My Doblo has this option of turning once and lights come on. But then when I try to turn the key further to turn the engine over, it won't move. I need to reverse the direction of the key back to the start and then do the two turns in quick succession, and only then will the key actually do the second bit of the turn and turn over the engine.

Occasionally the engine doesn't start first time and I think it's because it doesn't have a chance to prepare itself. Sometimes it also takes a few seconds to start.

Any ideas why it sometimes doesn't start smoothly? Is a trip to the mechanics advised? I just spent €200 last week on a service!
