I had to replace my sump the day before we went on holiday.I noticed the oil on the wet tarmac which was fortunate.
I managed to get a new one from my local parts shop for 48 quid and the job was straight forward enough apart from the exhaust bracket and support disintegrating due to rust.
I had noticed it was a bit flaky looking at the last oil change but never got round to fixing it.
It has now done 100000 miles I've had it since 9000 and apart from run of the mill wear and tear items the only failures have been the thermostat housing, rear window wiper motor and now the sump so I cant complain.
On the run down to York for the holiday it was getting over 60 to the gallon sitting at 70mph.
