Enjoying my hols at the moment in very hot Sardinia!!!! Have seen a few 500's about all in good condition, but unfortunately there are a few exceptions. It never ceases to amaze me how the older cars are dumped and cast off - we found an abandoned 600 multipla holding up a fence on a walk (pic) that was beyond saving. The red 500 is just placed against a fence in a garage yard! Such a pity that a 60th birthday car has ended up this way - any other examples out there members???? We may find sources of spare parts after all????
Ian.

Ah yes, dove la gente si fanno cazzi loro

It doesn't translate well, but basically it means "where the people mind their own damn business." Just a saying heard around Sardegna. We have family that live around those parts in Padru.

Try the ristorante Hotel l'Esagono on the beach. Great view!

Hi Luxe and Turbo, we depart tomorrow so no time to venture much beyond the local area. The Island does show such a rugged beauty when you get into the interior and man is it hot!!! Turbo, the red 500 is a little more grim when close up - the front and rear scuttle area shows rust. The engine has the air filter piping missing but other wise looks complete. I think a brave man could take it on after a good look!!!

Yep, it's not that bad, sure it needs a lot of work, but if it had all it's original paperwork/history it could be a real gem.

Also the ape next to it would be great too.
