So I needed a new battery for my Punto Evo. Nice easy job, old one out, new one in. Started the engine, first time for about two months. (Battery had been dead since end of March) took the car for a spin, no weird noise, no black smoke out the exhaust, sounds healthy, engine looks good when running; in fact, it runs like it's brand new. But the dash has lit up a ! warning light in a triangle, and the engine light is flashing at me. Handbook says it's damage to the catalytic converter, but as the car hasn't been running, that doesn't make sense. I plan on calling my local garages but if anyone has any ideas in the meantime, I'm all ears.
