I have a 2010 1.3 mjet linea dualogic, my vehicle sometimes automatically gear down to neutral while I am on driving with 2nd or 3nd gear, this was happen about once for a month, we have checked all possible problems e.g oil levels, leaking issues, gear clutches already changed to new one about 8000 km before, so it seems there have no problem, my local Fiat service said that sometimes this things might be happen, it is normally according to them If not continue permanently, this explanation did not make much sense to me
