I've always thought that skimping on a glove box lid for the Panda Pop was a step too far and was surprised that the lid itself was only 40 odd quid. So I went ahead and ordered one. The dealer advised that all I needed was the lid as everything else was under the fascia. Well that was not quite right.

The fascia pulled off fairly easily with several screws removed. The hinge is made up of part of the frame moulding and part of the lid moulding. But the lid came on its own. No hinge pin! So I hunted through the garage until I found a suitable dowel.

Closed the newly fitted lid and it rattled and shook. The lid of course didn't come with the rubber bumpers or catch plate for the latch tongue. Again rooting around in the garage I found some suitable rubber grommets - easily glued in place and all was well.

Fortunately it looks every bit original. But if you do decide to buy a lid for your Pop the I suggest you make sure they order the hinge pin and rubber buffers as well.
