The power should cut out after set time, It seems that the power might be activating then continuously. You can test this with a 12v bulb or a meterPut some wire round the bulb and faste the other end to an earth point or battery neg, Switch on and put the contact of the bulb onto the feed of the glow plug. Obviously it should go out and stay out if everything is in order
