Hi all, I have just recently purchased a 2005 JTD Eleganza so just thought I would drop by and say hi. I also own a 20v marea and post within the marea section sometimes too. Hope all is well amongst you all!

Had a few mucky times with the marea, but generally she has behaved herself. Now time for it to enjoy a quieter life :sly:

Job failure last night, couldn't for the life of me get the bolts undone for this EGR!

If you do a search on here you will find hordes of people have gone out with their toolbox with well meaning intentions of removing the EGR valve and giving it a shine that ED China would be proud of.
In reality the bolts are a right ba***d and 90% of people just blank the bloody thing off and be done with it.
I am one of the 90%.

Haha I have noticed yes. I think I'll take the easy route and order the blanking plate then. Looking at it I assume it just goes between the gaskets by the aluminium pipe?

Yep..I'm one of the 90% too..
Spent hours trying..then 5 minutes blanking!
You need quadruple jointed wrists and arms and the strength of Jason statham!

Going to buy one then, before I commit to buying, which one do I need, one with the hole or one without?

Also does anyone know where the horn is located on the facelift model?

AlonsoX I found it! (well my mechanic did) on the 2005> it's located on the passenger side in between the rear arch and the front of the car. Hope this helps. ?

Update: EGR blank was eventually fitted by my local mechanic. What a difference it makes. Got like unlimited power now!
