hi, what does the clutch pedal switch do exactly, does it cause gear change issues, thanks.

The gearchange is mechanical, so an electrical switch is irrelevant to that.
The switch just tells the body computer when the clutch is depressed. (So it can tell jokes, or add valium to cheer it up) This information can be used to allow/prevent starting and to disengage cruise control. May also be used to control fuelling to prevent overrevving when gearchanging.

If you have gearchange issues, post the problem, you'll get better help. By all means describe any diagnosis, but try to avoid just seeking answers to ideas, as they may be red herrings.
