I recently bought a used G. Punto. A few days later I discovered that
exterior mirror was repired in a way that the new one was just glued together
with dc motors base so that it was barely moving. Here are a few pictures of my improvised solution.
I took off the cover just to see what is the situation inside.
A simple piece of mirror was glued here.
Plastic parts that hold this two pieces was broken and glued together.
I cleaned the glue and placed small piece of nail through a fixed part to serve as an axle.
I fitted a piece of aluminum plate and attached it with screws.
I smeared adhesive paste and placed the mirror.
And it works. This job is not reversible but with a little more effort and time
can be done so that access to the screws is from the back side.
