Full Restoration Thread (updated with pics 02/06/05)

right, the time has come to pull the uno turbo to pieces (well already started hehe). i shall be updating this thread with pictures etc as and when they happen to keep an eye on it. MOds, feel free to move this thread if ive put it in the wrong section :) as i didnt really know where to put it but guessed it was quite Fiat related hehe!

anyway, the UT is kinda rotton underneath and rather than reshell it and loose the uno turbo ID, i gueesed it was time to get spending and sort it out once and for all :)

the plans for the bodywork and shell include:-

both rear turrets replacing
p/s outer sill
p/s inner sill
passenger side floors
new rear pannel from fiat
new rear tow eye from fiat
little hole under bonnet welding up
all other tiny bits of rusty parts cutting out and welding up
both new fiat front wings
both new rear arch lips replacing as rusty
2 new doors
basicly get the shell mint again
the inside fully sprayed including the roof (as it'll be fully stripped out)
boot reflushed
new doors delocked
full respray outside with all little dents etc removed
arches trimmed right out

well thats all i can think of at the moment for the shell/body!

as for the new mods well, plans include:-

Pro Alloy RS500 cossie spec intercooler
Saab 9000 turbo injectors
throttle plenum smoothed and enlarged with bigger butterfly
3" exhaust from turbo back with one free flow box at rear
16" Compomotive MOs in dark grey
195/45/16s Toyo Proxes
Fiat Coupe 4 Pot Brembo Brakes with grooved/drilled discs
AVO coilover suspension
Safety Devises Full 10 point cage with double diaganol
carbon fibre bonnet
perspex windows
fully stripped out except, cage, buckets, dash and carbon door cards

there will be more but i'll add it as i think. the main and first thing to sort is all the bodywork and shell asap! i'll add pics later today as im at work today!

lemme know what u think peeps :)

sounds like good fun mate.

good on ya for not just scrapping it mate

sounds good... Its the UT that FIAT should have made in the first place. What do you need reard seats for if you've got a roll cage. And before anybody answers that question with smutty remarks, a car is a sacred place.

right a couple of pics to start this thread off.

once i removed the bodykit, i found rust (what a supprise!)

inside, the floor and sills are a mess, so need to get on the phone to fiat and order sills and floors. drivers side is solid as these were done last MOT
