I have just purchased a 500C and as part of the deal I got a wind deflector for the rear of the car. This was not available when I picked up the car so I drove it without the deflector over the weekend (with the roof down ). I picked the deflector up this morning and tried with the roof down again. If I am honest I am not sure what Fiat are charging £100+ for as I noticed no significant decrease in buffeting or noise (one of the claims in the catalog is it enhances the stereo delivery when the roof is down, well I have the interscope which more than copes with any noise from outside the car ).
I have come to the conclusion that it is there more for styling than any practical use so would advise anyone shelling out their hard earned to buy one that there are better things to spend your £100+ on. (unless you're after the styling/lifestyle angle)
I will be monitoring this as the weather gets better and report back if my opinion changes.
