Can someone tell us where I'm likely to find bodyshop glue for fixing panels together ie for making extensions.

I've extended my front skirt because of the extreme bad fit with a combination of super glue and some other glue for automotive parts but is very slow hardering/drying.


When I'm screwing it in, I can can hear it cracking etc

cant you just use a silicone based sealant?

yeah that will most likely be silicone based(bit late/cold for glueing?) stuff like bathroom sealent are silicone based

get a hot glue gun wouldnt one of those do it?

Yeah I know it's a bit late but I've sorting out the skirt since 3 this afternoon and this happening it's really bugging me. It's hard work esp when things just break after all all that work.

I need to be sure that this will be ok. I'm trying forget nails??

think working outside the hot glue may set too fast.though i do love my hotglue :slayer:

motor factors, common brands are sikaflex and tiger seal.

its polly(summat) based not silicone

tigerseal etc

Would this be OK for bonding 2 panels together of about 3mm thick

It's the MS Design front valance I'm trying to fix if that's any help??

Also if you can get hold of it try "sticks like sh*t"( no it's not a p*ss take).

Terrsan 9220 Power adhesive (made by 3M) would do the job, we use it when bonding the roof's onto the Limo's. 9200 adhesive sealent would also work, but the 9220 is better.

Where do u get terrsan from???

We was only talking about htis yesterday and we didnt believe him at first lol but it does exist

Yeah I've used a hot glue gun and some mesh and it seems to have done the job fine but it does say interior use only. Hope this won't be a problem???

Quick question for you all, doesnt warrant new thread really,

where can i get tigerseal from? i need to attatch my skirts using it, tried halfrauds, no luck, tried b&q, no luck, tried homebase no luck, tried a factors in brackley (where i work) no luck, dunno where to look now, also got uhh serious stuff lol but its white

preferably want my skirts to be on before stanford

its about a kilo so cost a bit to send, last one i sent was about £13 all in, that any use? motorfactors that sell it are usally same ones that do paint n pannels, silkaflex is another make or say polyurothane(sp) bond as there are other brand names

going to try going to a bodyshop round the corner from my work 2moro, they were real helpful last time i went there so might try see what i can do, if all else fails i'll be skirt less at stanford, although either way will have a secret new mod for stanford
