So I have decided to strip my engine down to check what exactly I have so I was wondering if anyone had specification on valve sizes, barrel diameter and stroke plus how to identify what cam you have?

I could do with these for both 126 650 engine with panda head and 695 kits.

Ok so I found this online.

The diameter is 79 or radius of 39.5cm.

Height is 71 so this is a 695 engine!! Happy days!

With regard to the 500D/F/L and 650 engines -

Both had strokes of 70.0 mm

500 bore was 67.4 mm giving a capacity of 499.5 cc
650 bore was 77.0 mm giving a capacity of 652.0 cc
(695 bore was 79.5 mm -> 695.0 cc)

Standard valve sizes were (inlet/exhaust) 500 - 32 mm/28 mm, 650 - 33 mm/28 mm. About the biggest inlet valve you can safely fit is 35.5 - 36.0 mm. I fitted 35 mm valves to my engine giving a 12.5% increase in valve area.

As to the camshaft, if it's not stamped somewhere and you want to know lobe height, lobe profile and timing you'll have to have it professionally measured.

Hi Chris,

Thanks again.

The inlets are 35mm so that's good news. As usual a fountain of knowledge .

Thanks
