ok lads, for MK2 drivers only please

iv a punto mk2 8v and only getting 38-40MPG :yuck:
not happy as i put €25 in on tuesday ( half tank) and it was on reserve on thursday

i dont drive it hard, average driving speed would be 50-60mph?

whats everyone getting on theres?

and shes burning oil too :bang:

€25 was nowhere near half tank. Guage might fool you by going to half.

Full tank holds 47liters, which is about €77 @ 1.65...
€25 will only get you 15l, which is 3.5gallons, which at 40mpg will only get 135miles …

9 miles per litre is what we average on mixed driving around town with the odd long run.

so is my punto running normally? or is that mpg reading bad?

a clue maybe?

My 2000 1.2 8v will average 52-53mpg when driven sensibly, the burning oil could be an issue with valve stem seals or head gasket, is it using water also?
