Hi everyone, don't know if anyone can help but I'm trying to get hold of a mint set of the 16" alloys fitted to some of the 500 sports, I'm not sure what they are called but the Center caps had a red ring round them. If anyone can help that would be great, I'm not bothered about tyres
:bang:

The centre caps with red rings can be fitted to any 500 alloys so that doesn't narrow down which wheels you're after

I had a set of 5 O Spoke wheels on a previous 500 and they are very difficult to refurbish.
You wouldn't get a set mint secondhand - I looked for ages for a secondhand one - no luck.
New is your only option but you could try putting a WANTED ad up on the Classifieds.
Red ringed centre hub caps sold seperately. New around £60. Secondhand possibly £30-£45. These caps are easily marked if a pressure washer is used on them. I have a new set sitting the garage.

Ebay - buyer beware...

Hi Cooya, 16" alloys were an option on the Sport models and there are several styles available and as stated the red ringed hub caps fit all of them. Are you sure you don't mean the standard 8 spoke Abarth 500 wheels as they are a standard 16" fitment and also had red ringed caps (earlier models) as standard.

How exactly does the jet washing affect the wheel caps as I have just fitted a set of red ones to my TA. Mind you with a hose pipe ban forecast I'll only be using a bucket shortly.

Posted a close up picture of the 'best' wheel when I was selling the 500 Sport but most of the centre caps were pitted & on some of them the red paint was lifting. I would have added to the 'pitting' effect from the purchase of a new pressure washer. If you compare the 'old' and new ones you can see the difference.

Also posted a picture of an ex-member's wheel cap from his A500 that was posted here. His peeling was more pronounced on the grey part. I don't remember seeing any peeling red paint on the ring - this appears to be stronger than the red rim on the F500 ones. IIRC the A500 discontinued the red ringed caps in place of the chrome ones :( so they would have a similar 'edge' to the F500. There was also an issue on the APE and GPA.

So much for upgrading to red ones to get the Abarth effect.:)
Hand wash with a nice clean mitt is the only way to keep them looking like new.

Well spotted Tony. I might have mis-read the OP thinking that he was referring to the 5o-spokes on the Sport model that I had.
The A500 wheel that you posted are a fairly common upgrade for F500 drivers and can be picked up with tyres for around £300 in mint condition on ebay which would include centre caps.(y)
The only downside with fitting these wheels is that you haven't got the 'luxury' of claiming that you had upgraded alloys fitted by the dealer as an option.
