I have recently sourced a 17" spare wheel for my t-jet and fitted it face up in the boot well. A search confirms most people who have done this conversion have just wrapped the tools up in a rag and placed them under the wheel. I'd like to fit a tool holder from a lower spec GP (as below), will it fit?

Also; does the standard jack fit on the sporting jacking points?

It wont, as that tool kit fits into the upside down wheel in the wheel well and holds it down through a big bolt through the middle

Will the wheel not fit face down if you remove the centre cap? That's what I've done with my spare though it's not a full size alloy. I just bought a tool kit off ebay with the insert, stuck the wheel in face down and then bolted the toolkit in as it should be..

So am I right in thinking the bracket welded to the boot floor is different in sporting models?
