Is it possible to mount a 1400 uno gearbox to a 1100 uno motor? Just a straight forward bolt on. No modifications. The reason I ask is my gearbox is on its way out and I'd like to if I can put a 1400 box on because of the longer ratios

The short answer is no, The 1108 FIRE engine is completely different to the 1400, so the bell housing etc is different.

Might be worth looking into the current 1400 FIRE engined Fiats to see what the ratios are, it should go on without trouble as long as you have `dry` inner driveshaft gators & a cable gearchange on yours.

if you have the old 1116cc then maybe.

If you have the 1108 fire then probably not.

the 1116 engine and the 1372 nat asp box should go - diferent gear linkage though - not sure on drive shafts and speedo cable.

the 1116 engine and the 1372 Turbo should go but drive shafts and hubs need to be replaced as well as gear linkage and probs cable.

If you have the 1116, best looking for a 1116 / 1299 / 1301 nat asp box, or 999/11880 box if you got the 1108 (y)

Wow ok haha. I think I'll just replace it with another 1.1 gearbox. Sounds like its going to be the easiest. I don't have a uno motor in my car, its a palio 1242cc mpi motor
