CAN YOU PLS HELP ME WITH A FUEL GAUGE AND PUMP:worship: PROBLEM

My fuel gauge were fine when i baught the car about a year ago but after a while ,if you fill the car the guage just goes to about 3/4. Running it like that for about 1 month suddenly the feul pump stopped working.i took the car to a auto electricion where he put 12v directly on the pump and it is working fine.now the fuel gauge is reading no fuel in the tank and even the fuel light is burning even after filling it up.?i watched a vid on you tube with two fuel units and saw that the fuel sensor float on the one is moving up and down slowly and the other one fast.can you tell me how is it supposed to move and will it make a differince?

I have simular problem with my Siecento's fuel guage. The guage is 'half turn out', reads empty when full and full when empty. The fuel empty light works ok. I have just put stickers on with E & F to let me know when it is getting low. Cheaper than taking the panel out and replacing the guages.
