Hi all,

When I put the handbrake into the fully down position, the part of the gaiter near the top that comes into view (i.e closest to the armrest, not the gear knob) appears to slide down too far, and hence I have a gap that I can put my finger in too. Its difficult to explain without a picture so if no-one knows what I'm on about I'll take one tomorrow.

Does this mean anything please? I'd have thought if the brake pads were particularly worn then this wouldnt affect the distance of the handbrake down travel, only up travel? Cheers.

yup 100% the little plastic insert in the middle has snapped, if you take it out and flip it round its less noticeable, mine has done pretty much the same

Ah right, cheers for the comments chaps. If its only cosmetic its no biggie, I now if the handbrake travel in the up direction is excessive it can mean brake wear, but had never heard of excessive down travel. Cheers!
