500 My TA Lounge in Volare Blue.

Introduction

Just picked up today:

You can just about make out a tiny little crease in the rear wheelarch of the last pic - I noticed this on collection of the car, and it was pointed out - this is going to be repaired, and the Italian flag wing badges will go on at the same time. The dealer were very apologetic and assured me the damage wasn't there on PDI, so it must have happened on the way to Central London where I picked it up - ho hum, these things happen!

Getting used to it - it's a big change from an Alfa 156 V6, but it's bloody nice :)
Re: My TA Lounge in Volare Blue

A very nice car. My twin air had the minutest stone chip on the bonnet when we picked it up. My dealer arranged for a complete new bonnet to be fitted so I'm sure all will be fine with your car. :)

I have just rehosted your photos to the forum. As written in the sticky at the top of the Members Motors forum, please use the forum gallery to host your images in future.

Nice looking car btw ;) Something that I have just noticed on your car, are the vents above the rego plate functional, or just there as a retro styling cue?

Gorgeous! Is that registration private as it looks really good, the LL11 bit, I'm not sure how registrations work, mine starts with a Y and alot of the 11 plates I've seen have been Y's so I was wondering if they all were, but if yours isn't private then obviously not. Your car is gorgeous though! I've had mine 2 weeks now, the day I took it home I noticed the smallest dint on the driver's door, very very tiny, but I was home before I noticed it so I didn't think the dealer would do anything so I've just left it.

Have at look at this link Rach [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom"]Vehicle registration plates of the United Kingdom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:BritishNumberPlates_CopyrightKaihsuTai.jpg" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d8/BritishNumberPlates_CopyrightKaihsuTai.jpg/200px-BritishNumberPlates_CopyrightKaihsuTai.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/d/d8/BritishNumberPlates_CopyrightKaihsuTai.jpg/200px-BritishNumberPlates_CopyrightKaihsuTai.jpg[/ame] (click to the current system section). The first 2 letters mean the area the car was registered in.. E,g your Y stands for Yorkshire, L stands for Lonodon. The 2nd letter is more specific for the local town/area.

And the obligatory engine shot.. It's so tiny, but it's a gutsy little thing:

The car has done 80 miles now, and it's starting to loosen up, I'm really impressed with the engine and how the car drives.

There's only one Volare Blue 500 round here that I've seen.

Actually, it's the one we could have had!

However, as I've said before, it's the misses car and she doesn't like that colour.

Car is currently in Fiat Battersea to have the damage repaired. I have to say, I'm not altogether impressed with the service I've received, no offer of a courtesy car, which is a bit rubbish considering they've had it since Thursday morning, and I don't expect to get it back until Monday.

I've written a letter of complaint to Fiat CS, so will be interesting to see how it goes. If I'm not happy with the repair, then I'll definitely take the whole saga a lot further. Annoying thing is, I know a really good smart repairer and he'd have had the job done in an afternoon with really top notch results.

I will be happiest when the 'chore' of getting this car serviced for it's warranty is over, because the sooner I get it away from the frankly shoddy Fiat service network, the better. I'm going to be much happier looking after it myself, as I have always done with any other cars. The car is fantastic, but the service sucks.

I got the car back today after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing with the place not knowing whether the work had been finished or not, but at least the repair seems to have been conducted with some care and is entirely satisfactory.

To be honest, I'm glad I've got the car back, but it will definitely be interesting to see what Fiat say, I told the dealership I was not happy at all with the service, and filled in a survey saying I was treated in a pretty shoddy way.

Congratulations bgunn on the new motor. (y) I remember you posted the spec on it a few weeks ago and it certainly was worth the weight. I noticed that you left out the side protectors (same as my own (y)) and I love the wheels (y) - I had 5o-spokes on my last 500 - they really 'man up' the cinquecento. At least the wee turbo should compensate for the sound off your 'old' V6. Enjoy.
