Hi I have a feeling my front shock absorbers need replacing but is there any way one would know for sure if they are worn out?

I was told the only way to check is to actually remove them and see how they work by manually pressing but is there any other way? right now I dont hear any unusual thumping noise or anything but feel the car is unusually bumpy especially on poth holes and also speed bumps. the car has done only 25,000km so far.

Give a firm push down on the front corners, see how much it bounces - if it bounces like a kangaroo on a trampoline, then yeah, new shocks lol

If I remember rightly, the car should bounce fully once, then settle to it's resting position.

also pull the rubber up in between the coil spring and check for oil leaking between the chrome shaft and seal
