Hi there muliplians,
I had the red engine management light come on my 115 JTD on 10 miles into a 130 mile journey and the engine went into limp mode. It could still travel at 65-70mph due to gearing but little power for overtaking as no turbo.
Had a mobile diagnostic chappie plug into it and he said it was to do with inlet sensor but could do no more than re=set it. Needless to say it was fine for ten miles thenm on came the engine management light and back into limp mode. Strangely at one stage when the engine got hotter than normal (Dartford crossing queueing) the light went out and back came the turbo - but only for a couple of miles.
Just brought the car back from Auto electric firm who have detected fault code 236 with the words (they think) over boost solenoid flap. They kindly reset ECU and turbo now seems to be working (I could rev it up to 4,500 but didn't like to go further) but I guess it's only a matter of time.
Can any wizzes out there cast any light?
Thanks,
Brian
