I have code C1008 motor phases
am i right in assuming this is a motor problem, is there a procedure to test it. I n live date turning the steering wheel left and right is recognised by the ecu in voltages and the ecu is running on 0to 5 volts

That guide really should be updated to cover service exchange steering columns which now cost about £180.
