Hi there,

Anyone got any ideas what could cause a boost drop in my Mk1 Uno,

It used to run on 1Bar + but now it struggles to get over .8 Bar

I got the turbo rebuilt but it hasn't changed anything at all.

Hmm. ..... HELP !!!!

I have a boost tap but that hasn't been touched since it was running 1 Bar .

Can the gauge go faulty? i check lines to gauge etc and they are all ok.

Thanks

I think it's more likely that the boost tap could have gone faulty - try re-setting it (turning it up or down a bit). Other causes: recirculating dump valve faulty, especially if original plastic type - replacement can be bought from a Bosch fuel injection specialist. Could be a boost leak - check the pipes to the intercooler and intercooler end tanks. Listen for whistling noises.

0.8bar is still enough for most needs but I agree that if it was 1 bar before, you'd want to find the cause.

Awesome thanks for the response, I have had a good look at it this morning and tightened all pipes fittings etc, my BOV is recently new and doesnt seem to be leaking, it is dumps into the atmosphere rather than recirculating, does that have any bad effects?

My boost tap could have been bumped around as its in the engine bay and not secured too well. Will reset it and try again

Thank heaps
