I posted awhile ago about the metal kinda pinking noise and its still got it its pretty loud to the car runs fine jsu getting paranoid about the noise as my m8's cinq runs quiet (altho rich) [xx(]

is it like a metal plate spining and catching against something and does it do it only iin neutral. mine has done this for a while told Fiat about it and they looked into ot (so they say) and couldn't find anyhting wrong just seeing what happens now. still under warenty so if it goes wrong it there fault[?]

Yes thats the sound u can hear it kind of with the bonnet down open it up and u can hear it alot but car seems 2 run fine real confusing

im just goign to run mine untill its next service and ask them to really look into it for me. got one of my mates to have a look at it asweel but he couldnt hear anything. my cure for it is to turn my music up louder lol

same hear but its coming from thr rocker cover on mine

James - could also be a clutch on the way out. Mr Addison (red sei schumacher at Gaydon) had a new clutch fitted under warranty on his.

Jonna - check / change your oil first.

My Series 3 Land Rover makes a metallic, almost grinding noise when in neutral. It stops when I press the clutch. I think it needs adjusting.

Does your noise stop if you fully engage the clutch?

yeah as soon as i put the clutch in it stops it

Check the gearbox oil level asap!

Rite my gearbox oil is fine bcos Fiat changed it about 4 months ago anyway new info in the strange noise. Rite which i 1st start from cold there is no metal kinda pinking noise from the rocker cover jus my fan belt squeeling a bit. Once it warmed up the fan belt is quiet and the metal pinking noise is back [?] But somedays its fine other days its quite bad and the car still drives fine.
