nope, even a £2000 discount isnt enough to make a new car a sensible purchase for me. 3 years old is the newest i ever imagine i would be willing to buy unless i won the lottery.

has fiat dropped the price of the punto more??

my dad is considering either the panda eco or grande punto active.

last offers was that you can get a panda eco for £4995 after scrappage
and grande punto for i think £6700ish after scrappage.

ive just looked on fiat.co.uk and it has an advert for a panda eco for 5995 :O (see link) http://www.fiat.co.uk/content/?id=13689

and grande for 7995 http://www.fiat.co.uk/content/?id=13681

so if this is right...panda eco with scrappage would be even more cheaper at £3995 and grande for £5995. so have they dropped the price?im confused as if you look under "scrappage offers" it says panda eco 4995 still as before.and grande for £6695 . so whats with the prices?have they dropped even further or? haha

anyone could shed some light on this please:)

thank you:)

Re: has fiat dropped the price of the punto more??

trouble with this scrappage scheme is that manufacturers can essentially "hide" money in it and therefore secure more money/ a better deal for themselves and make you think you are getting a better deal. All this scrappage bonus does is eliminate the discount that they could give to anyone not in the scrappage scheme, so there isnt nearly as much movement on the price!

Might be better off looking at a 2 year old Panda.
We picked up a 56 plate Eleganza spec for £4000 which makes for a nicer spec then the Active and comes with the 1.2.
As long as you dont mind having some miles on the car already and being the second owner that is (oh and it seems only available in silver!)
