Tuning Nitrous Barchetta

Tuning Nitrous Barchetta

What's your ultimate aim Matt?

Just to explore all tuning possibilities. I know Nitrous goes against the Barchetta aesthetic, we're unlikely to ever see a Nitrous car in the pages of Classic and Sportscar magazine. But hey, Nitrous always looks fun at Santa Pod.

My thinking was that a conservative set up installed by the best in the business might actually be okay if used sparingly.

The economics are good when compared to the turbo option, even if you factor in the cost of a new engine to replace the one you have just blown up.

There was one b with nitrous for sale when I bought mine, and if I remeber correctly seller said that you can get kit like that (made for b?) from germany.. not really sure about that..
alltought they aren't road legal in Finland..

I would think that turbo would be better solution for ~10y old engine, depending of course from service history etc.

I read reports which suggest that a trickle of NO2 can pay dividends without damaging the car. Apparently the trick is finding the right kit as so many are either rubbish or will damage the car.

This is only what I've read, I've got no experience of this!

NOS is an exact science and not to be messed with, only have fitted by the very best specialists.

If I remember correctly they fitted a system in the top gear V12 jag for £500 but no idea if it would work with the barchetta fuel system? and as said not good for the engine as only a little use will have your piston rings at melting point.
