Well what a day that was, fantastic spectating as per usual.
I crawled out of bed after doing a 12hour shift and managed to get to Castle Combe just before 10am, the track was dry and already there were masses of cars including Scoobys, Evos, Caterhams, Westfields, Rs Turbo's, Several Lancia Delta Integrale's and just the one Ferrari 355.
Walking round the car club stands made for some interesting finds such as:
A Bright orange twin turboed rover V8 powered Renault Laguna with masses of rollcage inside together with a proper BTCC style cockpit, very nice!
I made my way up to Quarry corner as this is the best corner in my opinion for spectating as there is a slight crest before the braking point, but people tend to brake before this crest causing there rear wheels to lock up and either Slide, Spin or crash!
The track was dry so there was some fast cornering happening especially from the Scooby and Evo boys.
It was all really good spectating until a Cav GSI2000 somehow blew his engine on the entry into Quarry corner plastering oil all over the racing line, the race was promptly stopped and the oil cleared up by the marshalls and emergancy crews.
After 1/2 hour of cleaning up the mess the race was then restarted, and Quarry corner got a whole load more fun as cars began to slide on the remainder of the oil.
At 3pm it started raining and there were some serious powerslides happening from the RWD cars, the next two hours were very entertaining backed up by the evidence that i walked away from the track with my face aching from all the smiling i had done.
Oh i almost forgot there was a late appearence from Norris desgins and there very fappin quick 715bhp Evo7, this was seriously fast on the straights and he was'nt shy round the corners either!!
Heres some piccys out of the 100 odd i took with my new digital camera, hope you like them.
Four Delta Integrales in the paddock
Various cars waiting to got out on track
Escort Cossie which had some nice slides happening
Evo 6 at Quarry corner
That awesome laguna, note masses of rollcage!
My favoraite, Norris Designs 715bhp Evo7 [8D][8D]
