Im new to the forum so please bear with me if i dont explain myself well enough. I have a k plate 5 door sedici and basically i have removed my catalyst and replaced with a straight through pipe everything was fine until recently when i started getting a rattling noise from underneath. It seems to be coming from two brackets that were used to hold the cat in place, even though i havent got a cat anymore they are still in use holding the front pipe. It seems that they have a piece of rubber which on mine have completely rotted away hence causing this very annoying rattle. I hope i have been able to explain well enough so that u know which brackets i mean.anyone know how i can resolve this problem? be it simply welding them up? getting replacement for the rubber parts? (anything to stop this rattle as apart from that the car runs and sounds really well)

thyanks i hope u guys are able to help

when i had my decat pipe on i removed this bracket, unless you can find a place that would supply a replacement part,or find a sedi in a scrap yard you might want to do the same....in saying that i might have 1 lying around i'll have a look around for you.

What you describe is a common problem on either cars with a cat but where the bracket has rusted through or cars with a de-cat pipe such as yours and my son's.

A new bracket is almost impossible to get - It might be possible to have yours repaired. (I was lucky and managed this on my J plate which still runs a cat) Welding it up might help But I have heard tails of other problems caused by insufficiant flex in the exhaust as a result.

You could try your local exhaust specialist who might be prepared to make up a bracket or try the chap on Ebay who regularly advertises Sedices being broken

By the sounds of it my de cat pipe may be of a slight different design as when i took my car to my local specialists the brackets apparently were still in use. i dont know if this is true as i didnt get a look myself and tryin to do it on the drive way is quite difficult.lol if you have got a bracket around that would be awesome or even a picture would help as it would help me in trying to locate one (rather having to keep describing them as local fiat garages reply was simply THE WHAT?)
