hi, Would just like to know what the gear box oil filter plug should be and look like on a >2003 Punto mk2b Sporting 1.4 16v. The reason I ask Is that the one it seems to be on my car is a loose flimsy plastic cap which doesn't fill the hole properly and could let all sorts of s**te get into the box.

Also what grade oil should I use in the gear box I need to refill it now as Ive got a slow leak from the near side driveshaft oil seal.

The "flimsy plastic" on the top is a breather vent cover. The level (filling) plug is a 12mm allen plug mounted in the side of the casing about halfway up (at the front- look up from underneath the vehicle).

Just fill it up until the oil spills out of the hole.

Official stuff is 75w synthetic.
