The thing is, the Fiat has more character, more equipment and is cheaper, but the Astra will outsell it in huge numbers. Go figure that one out. [V]

The thing is Steve, people in this country have been brain-washed for years, when we get into these sorts of debates at work and they slag of my FIAT, I always respond with, 'oh yeah and what marques are left that are British?' and they always say 'Ford or Vauxhall'.

They still believe these marques represent this country, that's why they're so hung up on them, it freaks me out!

This is true of Ireland as well. GM and Ford conquer the sales charts every year with bland boxes and people don't question it. [V]

i can't see the similarity between the stilo and astra, the stilo is all angular and funky, the astra all blobby and gloppy for want of better words! the line under the windows (swage?) is similar alright but i think the astra is a golf clone.

as for the british marques, as far as i know vauxhall have been rebadged opels for over 60 years. and would be better off changing their brand to opel as vauxhall has such a "sausage and chips" image

if i had the dosh 2 buy eighter wich i dont,i would have the fiat on looks easy.if there is 1 thing about fiat these days every new car looks brill and different to what anyone eles nocks out.if they could just get the dealers and other minor faults out of the way they would soon be back in the black.

Anyone noticed how the new A3 looks like a Stilo too, also the back lights on the new Astra are very new Almera[V], but the Astra is apparently very good according to What Car. Wouldnt have one though!

perhaps its just the two pictures on display in bushboys post, (the stilo looks to be a lower spec model than the astra) but imho, the stilo is lookin a bit old in comparison, something to do with the lower stance of the astra i think.

yeah it's a funny angle, but that astra does look miles better than the 5 door stilo

Your making me feel bad now. The Astra looks like every other car on the road, 5 door Stilo has character.
