How much would you pay for an induction kit

Just a bit of buisness research here.

How much would you be willing to pay for an Induction kit? By induction kit, I mean a proper kit with hosing etc, not just a bolt on filter.

Im looking into starting an induction kit company, designing and developing myself using mostly off the shelf parts (for easy replacement if they break) and selling as a full kit to fit specific cars etc. (mainly fiats to start).

I just want to know what sort of price range you would be willing to pay for a full bolt-on (or with as little work as poss) induction kit.

Alot of piping doesnt make the kit any better. Ive looked into this many times and spoken to a number of people about kits and the airflow etc. Ive got quite a good knowlege of how to get the best from an induction kit and ide like to put it into practice.

Are you saying you would only pay the higher range if there was alot of hosing to backup the cost, no matter how well the kit worked?

Dont get me wrong. This is nothing to do with GSR or Pete. ive been thinking about it for a few months now.

Cars ive considered are as follow so far

Seicento Sporting (The GSR for the Cinq cant be bettered IMO so theres no point trying)
Punto JTD

no, i meant if a certain car needs more piping to put the filter somewhere else cos theres no room.
 
As i voted £60-£80 should IMO get a decent working Induction kit, plus I don't like having to wait weeks to save £100 for the GSR when I've just took a shift reduction :(
 
I'd pay for the best results!

There's a lot of work involved in getting the kits right to get the best out of any particular fitment...

I'd pay what it takes to get the best performance...

Paid 100 for a k&n 57i kit only 6 months ago but I'm about to go one big step better with the GSR kit and I dont mind paying up to 200-300 if it does the job and looks good in with it!

Its a big market with lots of competition!
 
Ide be looking at producing kits in the lower end of the market tbh. All kits potentialy work in the same way so the same rules can usualy be applied, which I will be taking full advantage of!.

Im going to knock up a kit of the sei which ive had in mind for around 5 months. decided on the idea when babz first got her sei actually, nearly made it once but this was when I was working on the kit for the Cinq as the sei kit wouldnt fit a cinq because of the bodywork.
 
You would have to factor in design, development and testing in with your prices

I was quite happy with the price I got my punto kit at, but I would of got it at the asking price if I needed too

If alot of research, time and effort has gone into the making of the induction kit then I would pay top dollar. It would need to be proved that it worked
 
design and developement would be through my own funding. Obviously I would add a premium onto the cost of the kits because otherwise theres no point in me doing it if I dont make a profit etc. but I wouldnt expect to get anything back from my free time developing it.

As long as testers are willing to accept beer as a fee then (y) :p

already got a sei, bravo and Uno turbo at my disposal so thats not a problem, plus I can easily borrow a cinq and some others, plus if I ask nicely, im sure others wont mind neither :)
 
Chris, I think it would depend on the type of results in all honesty, RR graphs. People are more likely to compare power gains to other kits (such as GSR) and the price and obviously decide whether extra gains or cash is more important.

I think RR graphs would definately get more people interested. You would have to look at the price and power gains of the competition i.e. BMC CDA kit for the Punto JTD against yours etc.
