Ok, so found out last night insurance on a evo 3 is actually affordable... :(

Now thinking if to get a loan (bin the cinq one, not much left there pay for that easily with sale of turbo cinq  ) which wont be a problem untill next year when im out renting or buying my own place :( when a loan on evo may be a issue then :(

But im really torn if to chance it and go for it

Kind of evo i'd be looking at would be something like this;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/mitsubishi-evo-III-low-mileage-in-a1-condition_W0QQitemZ280028026091QQihZ018QQcategoryZ18230QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

But as above, would mean sale of turbo cinq which i dont know if i could do and if i did i'd regret it... even more so if i ended up having to sell the evo 3 for something more like what the turbo cinq would have been kind of thing :(

So now im torn... do i get the evo which i want (and can get)... or do i keep the cinq, and throw a bit more cash at it to rekindle our love lmao :chin:

Your input will be greatly appreciated as at the moment i'm really 50/50

p.s. either way i'll still be at all FF events etc :D

p.p.s. throwing more money at cinq would entail fully sort any niggles it has, smooth in the hormann arches and skirts, and full respray, possibly in another colour or something (hmm lambo orange or lambo yellow.... lol) :chin: Oh and it'd probably mean smooth doors etc etc going on and it becoming a 2nd car to a 1st car being a standard cinq :D

how many fiat forumers can you fit in a cinq - doesnt quite have the same ring:p

still road rockets are very persuasive.....can you excercise the degree of self control needed to enjoy it and maintain your licence? if so, yeah cool, go for it!

Evos guzzle fuel, need frequent servicing, and eat tyres (all four of them). Apparently great fun to drive, but you pay for it...

Any four wheel drive homologation rally cars be it Mitsi, Imprezza, integrale, Cosworth, GTiR, GT4 etc all have hi service costs, every 6000miles or less, & you have to service 4WD system as well, will not see above 25mpg, 20 is more normal, tho according to that link someone posted 18 is normal on mitsi's.

They are all fantastic cars, not always the fastest in straight lines (by a big german barge for that) but see a country road and leave other mere mortals trailing behind with great ease. But, and its a big but, its not just the buying them, its the upkeep of them that costs, you will need to bank on about min£2k a year in running costs alone doing fairly low miles, to keep them sweet as skimping on servicing leads to big trouble and bigger bills.

I would say that if you are thinking on moving out in a year then do it for a year, and then sell and get something more sensible, doesn't have to be totlay sensible just more than a rally slag of a car.

This is the other thing, and the fact that its more dangerous to floor a 4wd than it is a cinq... where the cinq will be forgiving a evo wouldnt be :( (n)

Got a feeling its gonna stay a dream for the time being, may look at a cheap runabout yellow cinq, while mine becomes a show/weekend car :D

hi
thats wat i did i brought an nissan pulsar 2.0 turbo 4x4 thing 1 word for it awsom.
but it cost me 1500 to insure and no tell of a lie 300 a month in fuel and i didnt really use it much as i had a company car just a bit of a heavy foot.
i had it for 2 months then sold it then bropught a house .looking back at it now it wasnt worth it.
also u have to think about if it brakes , the pulsar need a new clutch which was £300 then to fit it buy a mate £300 its not worth it if u are thinking about moving out but that is just my opnion.

Alex your mate said it best last night, he is looking at buying an Audi RS4 which is pretty damn quick but the Cinq will still have it to 60 :D

Also think about the looks you get in the Cinq, the bloke in the VTS earlier gave you the "WTF was that" look as you tished your way down the road :slayer:

Alex as much as i like the Evo's you and the cinq go hand in hand with me and my crazyness, it wouldnt be right for you not to have the cinq, i aint been a member as long as you but when i joined i knew you to be the legend with the cinq and goes waptish as well (y)

if you sell the cinq would you regret it, the answer maybe yes maybe no, you wont know till you do it. and would you really want to live in regret if you did buy it to find you have probs with it and aint as good as what you thought. all i know is that if you did get the evo part of me would regret you getting it, i know we aint close in terms of distance but ur a good lad and there for when i need a chat with you :slayer: i wouldnt be able to sit on your wood if you got an evo, there would be no fun in seeing how many people you could fit in an evo, there would be not enough head turns from the evo as there would from the cinq.

i wouldnt enjoy trailing on the back of your evo on the tarmac as much as i did with the cinq

if it was up to me you would keep the turbo cinqi poo and make it a show car (y)

mucho respect Alex
