A car depreciates rapidly, a good private number plate wont!

If that is the case, how come you have now seen one that has been reduced loads. This is obviously proof they do depreciate. Private plates have gone down in price a lot over the last few years becuase the novelty has worn off.

Fiaty?

I was just making a point. Dont go round saying you're loaded when you're clearly not. It makes people dislike you before they know anything about you.

We may have "shafted" the Germans, but you bought one of their cars :)

If it was £500,00 last year it would. Just cause it is £297,995 now, doesn't mean it will be tomorrow or that it wasn't more last year.

A few years ago i saw a plate for about £250 and missed buying it, a few months ago i saw the same plate go for just under 2 grand

Theres an auction on sunday with a plate in it thats very similar and the reserve is tiny so im bidding on it.

Re: Private number plates

I would love a private plate for my Vel Satis, nobody knows what it is and as there are no physical updates in the styling, it would be nice to have what could for all intents and purposes be a new motor. When I had my 04 plate Stilo I had the chance to buy DP04JMP which was David Palmer 04 Jane Marie Palmer(the missus), it was £499 and too much of an extravagence for me at the time. So now I have a little one, Charlie John Palmer - the choice is endless - I could have CJP anywhere in the plate and be chuffed everytime I see it!

Well it gives your car a bit of character and personalisation.

But every car already has a personalised plate, no other car can have the same plate as you (legally)! Sorted. 250+ quid saved :)
