Okay guys I need broom yellow in my life and have a couple of options I'd like to run by you

Option 1

Fiat Stilo 1.9 JTD 115

$_57.JPG

Option 2

Fiat Bravo 1.8 HLX 115

$_57.JPG

Stilo...

For: Modern, diesel (false) economy, more toys, fresher styling and of course red neck nitrous (remapping, and other tuning options).

Against: Modern, diesel (horrible smelly crap), more stuff to go wrong, bigger more expensive tyres, depreciation.

Bravo

For: Cool, soon to be classic, negative depreciation (in theory), 115 1.8 GenIII 128 engine so Punto HGT cam's and few other bits to give the car more poke and less angular styling.

Against: Rare-ish so parts could be problematic, bottomed out in value so while insurance is cheaper the coverage will be as well and tuning a future classic will be a moral issue (ish).

Both cars are 115bhp and performance will be similar and even though the Stilo will be a little more nose heavy I imagine both will be as happy on the road or track.

What do we all think?

Comments and votes please.

Diesel good on fuel car has looks head Turner stilo is way better then a bravo mate

The Stilo did look nice but it sounded horrible and smelled worse. If a decent one comes up I'll be sure to check it out but in the mean time I have modular Fiat platform and a Coupe' 16V turbo available.

Wooooo-ha-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaa!

As owning both a brava and stilo id vote stilo everytime as more roomy and modern looking

Ha! The joke's on me the 115 engine is exactly the same as the 130 Punto HGT. She looses fifteen of her thoroughbreds due to having proper power steering instead of the stupid Punto on/off GM crap with ****ty button so it feels even more vague and air conditioning. I was hoping this one wouldn't have AC because it has the electronic sunroof (that actually works).

Electric windows work perfectly.
Electric sunroof also perfect.
Mirrors both work fine.
CD multichanger works but skips like made because the suspension is lowered.
Alloys are all straight and all four tyres are tired and different makes.
Once side light bulb doesn't work and the sump guard was held on with cable ties but it has since fallen off.
Bodywork wise the car has done 110,000 and has lived so I wasn't expecting concourse. The front bumper is ruined and three different shades of yellow, every pannel has a ding, dent, knock or scratch; the tailgate and back bumper have seen a post or two and need replacing.

Perfect. :)

Deffo got to be the stilo it will last longer from what I have been told the old bravo and the new ones iv been told fail all the time not too sure how true that is but I don't see many new shape ones about or old ones lol does that not tell you something lol

Update got some claw alloys for it

Well done on your choice, IMO the correct decision. Broom Yellow is just the tops, and the 1.8 filled a nice niche. Yes I knew that the 115 wasn't the exact Barchetta / HGT engine but it was a good compromise with supposedly better economy than the 1.6 16V. The wheels are nice... the same as my later "Formula" Brava.

You need to start a thread in the Bravo / Brava section, there are some interesting projects on there run by some pretty competent enthusiasts like yourself.

I'm assuming that the intention is just renovation to factory stock without any outlandish mods and transplants?

The plan was to simply use the car and keep my Pandas out of the salt, grit and stuff that rhymes with grit and starts with "s".

Now I've had a look around the Bravo section and the broom yellow HGT is for sale darn sarf a new plan is formulating.

Wooooo-ha-ha-ha-haaaaa!
